POLAR 1.0
By: John Hammerton
Polar 1.0 is a gutted version of my CamPath program. CamPath (available
on the You Can Call Me Ray BBS), creates animations for the DKB and PoV
ray-tracers by moving the camera through a user defined polar path.
This version (Polar 1.0) was written as a utility for CTDS by Truman Brown
(Connect The Dots Smoother), and has NOTHING to do with animations. This
program lets you design a 2 dimensional polar (trigonometric) shape and save
it to disk as a series of points. The output format is CTDS compatible and can
then be turned into a smooth object, which is at <0 0 0> & lies in the XZ plane.
You are asked for your input on size, shape, radius and number of points
(Dots) and are given a preview of the shape. You can then SAVE this data for
input into CTDS (which in turn will give you DKB/PV-Ray compatible output.)
Disclaimer: Polar v1.0 does NOT have a delete function and could only harm
an existing file if it saves 'over' it with the same name. It also can NOT
access any file except for the data file it creates. It allows YOU to name
this file so there's no mix-ups. Therefore, I cannot be held liable for any
damages resulting from the use or misuse of this program.
Please direct any problems you have with this program to me and I'll do my
best to try to help. This was not a joint project, therefore CTDS is NOT
included with this utility. Please do not bother Truman for a problem you
encounter while using CTDS with POLAR-created files. Try me first.
